Leeds Hyde Park Picture House. This recently renovated independent cinema in the heart of the student community in Hyde Park is one of the most elegant structures and visually iconic scenes of the area. This beautiful Grade II listed building opened its doors in 1914 and retains many of its original features such as the external ticket booth and its gas lighting fixtures.
Having reopened to the public in June 2023, this illustrated print acts as a commemorative item to celebrate the next chapter of HPPH as a more accessible yet beautifully preserved historical cinema. It makes a perfect gift to any student, long term resident, visitor or cinema fan. It pairs perfectly with other relevant illustrations in the area available at Zacrosso, such as the Brudenell Social Club and Cottage Road Cinema.
This illustration was hand painted in watercolour, digitally scanned and painted over and layered with textures using iPad Procreate and Photoshop.
